Description
Rockwood at Whitworth is seeking a highly skilled RN (Registered Nurse) to join our Nursing department as the Health Care Services Director. This position is responsible for directing health care services of our assisted living and memory support care settings as well as supportive health care programs for our independent living residents. The HCSD will ensure all residents are treated with dignity and respect as well as manage the quality of their care. Frequent interaction with residents, families, and fellow team members is required.
Pay Salary: $105k — $125k
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee the delivery of high-quality care to all residents within the community by managing the day-to-day health care operations.
- Assess potential residents in various settings to evaluate their needs and determine if they are eligible for admission.
- Establish and manages departmental operational budgets.
- Serve as a direct liaison between residents, families, and team members.
- Prepare or oversees the preparation of resident’s assessments and negotiated service plans in a timely manner and in accordance with applicable regulations and policies.
- Schedule and conducts new resident orientation for new health care residents.
- Ensure consistent quality resident care and service delivery throughout all shifts; this may require assuming the role and responsibilities of a nurse/caregiver in order to meet the residents’ needs.
- Responsible for the nurse delegation program.
- Conduct periodic nursing medication skills inventory checks and periodic medication audits.
- Select, hire and ensure job-specific orientation of Health Care services team members. Participates in New Hire Orientation as needed.
- Provide training and education to Health Care Services team members on an ongoing basis to include classroom in-services and situation specific training.
- Assist in the achievement of occupancy goals by meeting with prospective residents and their families, by monitoring health, safety and wellbeing of residents to maximize resident retention and by providing timely evaluation and screening of potential admissions.
- Manage, assign, and direct the work of health care services team members.
- Responsible for achieving established standards of quality and high levels of resident and family satisfaction.
- Communicate pertinent resident health and safety information with team members, residents and families as applicable.
- Lead department quality improvement initiatives. Participates in risk management programs, safety committee meetings, collaborative care meetings, and family care conferences.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, families, and co-workers.
- Complete all necessary required training and in services as assigned.
- Provide ongoing communication with residents and as necessary family members.
- Address resident and other groups of common interest.
- Maintain a database and prepares reports on resident assessments, participation and satisfaction.
- Meet routinely with General Manager and Whitworth management team to review operational issues, set goals, and provide updates on individual resident participation.
- Maintain work operations by following policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of all resident information.
- Adhere to all professional standards, policy and procedures; federal, state and local requirements.
- Work cooperatively with supervisors and staff and maintain a good working relationship with all staff.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington state and in good standing.
- Three to five years related experience in a nurse management role.
- Three years’ experience in senior housing/healthcare
- Ability to obtain AL Manager Training within a year of employment.
- Multi-tasking skills
- Effective oral, written, and reading skills.
- Previous experience with Point Click Care preferred.
- Current CPR certification
